Chitwan overview

Located high in the Nepalese Himalayas is the amazingly picturesque town of Chitwan. Located about 100kms from the capital of Kathmandu, Chitwan offers tourists the chance to experience the huge variety of flora and fauna in Nepal’s largest national park. Here, visitors can come into close contact with many different animals, including the rare Bengal tiger and the one-horned rhinoceros. Getting to Chitwan is best done by bus from Kathmandu and will take you on some windy roads through spectacular scenery. While accommodation in Chitwan is rather limited, most travellers opt to stay in Kathmandu, where they can enjoy all the creature comforts like a western style toilet.
