Kathmandu overview

Probably considered to be one of the most picturesque capital cities in the world, Nepal’s Kathmandu is nestled snugly in the Himalayan mountain range, surrounded by mountainous snow-covered peaks, which make for great photos. The scenery surrounding Kathmandu comes together perfectly with the quaint architecture of the city and the traditional way of life of the locals. Travellers can still enjoy their own nirvana in Kathmandu, with a large number of tourist attractions scattered throughout the city, including temples, and usually there is always a festival of some sort taking place. Accommodation in Kathmandu caters for all tastes and budgets, and delicious food is available at cheap prices. Kathmandu is also the starting point for those who want to conquer the world’s highest point, Mount Everest, but that isn’t recommended for the average traveller!
